Inspired by the haunting story The Tell-Tale Heart, this piece reflects the psychological torment that follows a terrible act. In the tale, the narrator believes he has committed the perfect crime, hiding the evidence beneath the floorboards. Yet the weight of his own conscience manifests as the relentless sound of a beating heart that only he can hear.
What begins as silence slowly becomes unbearable, until guilt itself demands to be revealed.
This piece captures that moment when the mind can no longer conceal what it has done, when conscience rises from beneath the surface and refuses to be ignored.
At the center of the piece, a faceted smoky quartz stone reveals a miniature hand painted artwork created by artist Admin Torres, transforming the jewel into a small framed world preserved beneath crystal.
The surrounding metalwork was handcrafted in oxidized sterling silver, giving the piece an aged and atmospheric character that echoes the dark psychological tension present throughout Poe’s literature.
